Ben Tebbe is a founding member of Indy Shakes (formerly HART) and current President of the Board of Directors. He served as Company Manager for the first 3 years of the theatre’s existence and was instrumental in the genesis of the free annual Shakespeare production in the park. As an actor for Indy Shakes Ben performed in Death and the Maiden, The Merchant of Venice, Much Ado About Nothing, The Tempest, Twelfth Night, Taming of the Shrew, As You Like It, The Winter’s Tale, and staged readings of Happy Birthday, Wanda June and An Evening of Edgar Allan Poe. He also stage managed the world premiere production of Midwestern Hemisphere.

Other regional credits include performances with Indiana Repertory Theatre (Julius Caesar, Macbeth, Hamlet, Twelfth Night, Romeo & Juliet, Holes, and A Christmas Carol), Phoenix Theatre (Clybourne Park, Avenue Q, The Lieutenant of Inishmore, Urinetown: the Musical, and Orson’s Shadow), ShadowApe Theatre Company (Gorey Stories and Not A Peep), Beef and Boards Dinner Theatre (Father of the Bride), Bobdirex (Cabaret), and Contemporary American Theatre Company (Complete History of America, abridged).

He is a 2011-2012 Creative Renewal Fellowship recipient from the Arts Council of Indianapolis. A proud Equity member, Ben earned his B.A. in theatre from Marian University where he is now the Director of Theatre.
